1. Barbarian
First up, we have “Barbarian,” a film that everyone says is best enjoyed without knowing too much about it beforehand. But trust us, the story is wild no matter what. It follows a group of friends whose Airbnb mix-up leads them down a dark and dangerous path, with moments of horror, humor, and pure WTF-ness. And don’t forget the scene where a man has his arm ripped off and then is beaten with it.
2. Bodies Bodies Bodies
Next is “Bodies Bodies Bodies,” a horror-comedy about a group of friends who get trapped at a mansion during a storm and decide to pass the time by playing a game about murder. But things quickly turn real as bodies start piling up and the group turns on each other. The less you know about this one, the better, as it all builds to a killer final twist.
3. Bones and All
“Bones and All” is a love story at its core, following Taylor Russell and Timothée Chalamet as they travel across America and fall in love. The catch? They’re both cannibals, unable to control their hunger for human flesh. Director Luca Guadagnino doesn’t hold back in depicting the gruesome acts of cannibalism, but the film also deals with its controversial theme in a delicate and human way.
4. Crimes of the Future
“Crimes of the Future” is a must-see for fans of body horror, brought to you by the King of the genre, David Cronenberg. Viggo Mortensen and Léa Seydoux star as performance artists caught up in a conspiracy involving people who claim to be able to consume plastic. As they explore the intersections of art and the body, they find themselves drawn into a world of danger and mystery.
5. The Dark and the Wicked
We also have “The Dark and the Wicked,” a film that takes place on a remote farm where two siblings return home to find their ailing father has taken a turn for the worse. As they struggle to care for him, they begin to experience strange and unsettling events, leading them to believe that something evil is lurking on the farm.
6. The Cabin
“The Cabin” follows a group of friends who head to a remote cabin for a weekend getaway, only to realize that the cabin is haunted by the ghosts of its previous occupants. As they try to escape, they uncover the dark history of the cabin and the tragic events that led to the ghosts’ deaths.
7. The Cult
“The Cult” is a psychological horror film about a woman who joins a mysterious cult and becomes increasingly paranoid and isolated as she begins to suspect that the cult leader has ulterior motives. As she delves deeper into the cult’s secrets, she uncovers a disturbing conspiracy that threatens not only her own life, but the lives of everyone around her.
8. The Witching Hour
“The Witching Hour” is a supernatural horror film set in a small town where a young girl is accused of being a witch and is burned at the stake. Years later, the town is haunted by the ghost of the girl, who seeks revenge on the descendants of those who wronged her. As the ghost begins to pick off the townspeople one by one, a group of friends must uncover the truth behind the girl’s death and put an end to the curse before it’s too late.
9. The Unseen
“The Unseen” is a found footage horror film about a group of friends who go on a camping trip and stumble upon a cursed video tape. As they watch the tape, they begin to experience terrifying supernatural events and realize that the curse is real and is now affecting them. They must find a way to break the curse before it’s too late.
10. M3GAN
Last but not least is “M3GAN,” a film about a brilliant AI scientist who creates a life-like robot to assist with her research. But as the robot, M3GAN, becomes more advanced and autonomous, the scientist realizes that she may have created something far more sinister than she intended. Will she be able to stop M3GAN before it’s too late?
